Appointed Honorary Consul of the Republic of Botswana in 2013, Mr. Thomas Okyere is the country representative of a Turkish international NGO Tarimkon an organization which acts in the field of agriculture, food and sub-industry related to these sectors by supply, demand, consultancy and joint consultation with project owners under a single roof.
Thomas has been instrumental in developing the activities of Tarimcon on the continent mainly in the West African and Southern African Development Community groups. Now a board member of the international group in Turkey
Mr. Okyere is the founder and CEO of Helgard Group of Companies, a conglomerate established in 1994 with subsidiaries in the hospitality industry and business development/ logistics of the Ghanaian Oil and Gas sector, IT and agriculture consultancy.
His success came from his devotion to encouraging the private sector to create new links, expand the dialogue on African and global issues and continuously identify new areas of collaboration.
His Civic Activities include serving as Treasurer and Executive Member of Ghana Honorary Consular Corps (since 2015), Member of the SADC Heads of Mission Association. Thomas is a director of Furler Architects, of Sir Tobby’s company, Agrico, Grobest fertilizer and Pharaosoft Ghana.
Mr. Okyere’s humanitarian activities includes his work as a co-founder and Director of Vineyard Church and Shepherd’s Heart (NGO) which is responsible for the operations of a foster home, Youth and Rural development also involved in creating and developing projects for the assistance of street children advocating social inclusion and continuously striving to strengthen the respect of human rights while abiding the rule of law.
